Designed and implemented a real-time FPGA audio-processing pipeline in SystemVerilog on an AMD Artix™ 7 FPGA to capture microphone audio, perform frequency-domain analysis, identify dominant musical notes, and visualize audio data on a VGA display.

  • Designed a modular SystemVerilog DSP pipeline on an AMD Artix™ 7 FPGA for real-time monophonic musical note detection.
  • Developed RTL for PDM microphone capture, audio decimation, FFT window buffering, dominant-frequency detection, and musical note mapping.
  • Integrated AMD/Xilinx FFT IP using AXI-Stream interfaces, implementing valid/ready handshaking, frame sequencing, TLAST control, and configuration logic.
  • Verified RTL modules with Synopsys VCS, simulation testbenches, and waveform debugging before FPGA hardware bring-up.
  • Implemented real-time VGA visualization of microphone waveforms and frequency-spectrum data at 800x600 resolution.
  • Synthesized, implemented, and deployed the complete design with Vivado on a Digilent Nexys A7 FPGA.
